ZionGearBuilder.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
We also participate, or intend to participate, in affiliate programs run by outdoor retailers and networks — among them REI, Patagonia, Backcountry and evo. The same principle applies to every one of them: a commission to us, no extra cost to you.
This is the part most disclosures skip, so here it is directly.
Commission does not decide our recommendations. Where renting beats buying, we say so — our Narrows guide tells most visitors to rent boots and bibs in Springdale rather than buy them, which costs us the largest commission on that page. Where you don't need something, we say that too.
We recommend gear categories, not miracle products. The Gear Builder tells you that you need traction, sun cover or water capacity for your route. Specific products are examples of things that fill those roles well — not the only acceptable answer.
We haven't personally tested every item. Recommendations draw on commonly recommended gear for Zion conditions, park guidance and outfitter practice. Where we have direct experience we say so; where we don't, treat it as a well-researched starting point and confirm fit and current availability yourself.
Prices and availability change. We don't display live prices. Whatever the retailer shows at checkout is the real number.
Nothing here is gated. You can read every guide and use every tool without clicking a single affiliate link, and you can always search the retailer directly instead. The information is the same either way.
